Foggy Bottom

Foggy Bottom is one of the oldest districts of Washington, and it gained its name (probably) because it is a low-lying area that was prone to fog in the days when Washington was nothing but marsh and swamp land. Today, the George Washington university is one of the most important institutions that has its base in Foggy Bottom.
