Georgetown is a neighbourhood in north-western Washington, located along the waterfront of the Potomac river. Georgetown was originally a separate municipality, until it was assimilated as part of Washington in 1871. Today, Georgetown is one of the most affluent and swanky neighbourhoods of Washington, and it is also known for its bustling nightlife.
