Lincoln Memorial

The Lincoln Memorial was built in honour of Abraham Lincoln, and is located at the west end of West Potomac park. Construction of the monument began in 1914, and was finished in 1922. For many people, the Lincoln Memorial is significant as it was on the steps at the front that Martin Luther King gave his "I have a dream" speech.
