Pennsylvania Avenue is one of the major avenues in Washington, and it joins the White House and the Capitol Building. The White House is perhaps the most important building on Pennsylvania Avenue, an alternative address being "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue". Pennsylvania Avenue runs either side of both the White House and Capitol Building. |

No traffic goes along the stretch past the White House
