( HomeWashington → River )

The Potomac River runs through Washington DC, and in fact forms part of the border between Washington DC and Maryland.  The river is 383 miles long, beginning in West Virginia and discharging ultimately into Chesapeake Bay.  The river forms part of the water supply to Washington DC, to the extent of about 500 million gallons per day.
