Very good articles on atomic/quantum physics Martin. A friend in work has asked me to explain quantum mechanics and atomic physics to him and it is a nightmare to explain without confusing him (and me again!) but your website has been the best on the net for doing this! I've only read the article on your purchase of the Astra CDTi which I also have. Great car and I recommend you purchase a tuning chip for it takes power from 150bhp to 180bhp without detriment to fuel economy unless you like to flex your ankle a lot! Great fun and the power is addictive.

"hello martin" great website, i came across it by chance, i was looking for pictures of the Doone valley, i found some lovely ones in your diary, i am amazed at the content of your diary, i also listed to most of your music, i haven't heard Janis Ian for years, i am off to buy an album tomorrow, if i can get one that is, My husband and i are off to Doone valley next year, we enjoyed your pictures, and also looked at some of the others you have, i also see you are a labrador lover, i to have a passion for dogs, we unfortunately lost our beautiful girl Darcy this year, she was a 9yr old Chocolate lab, she lovely i miss her very much, i felt so lost when she died but i have many wonderful memories of her with us and my grandchildren, well i will end on a happier note and wish you well, good luck with the website keep it up its great well done you, regards sharron and brian..

I was reveling in the Manchester United win over Chelsea in Moscow when me old lady mentions tritium plume on Long Island at Brookhaven National Laboratory (yes, old news that). So I "googled" Brookhaven and radiation, and I kept following various links ending up gazing, bewildered, upon your extremely fascinating
site. Serendipity! I commend you on your work putting this site together. So how do you have time to do your research and this site?
Woefully, I have only been to England once. That was Southampton. I got off the student ship saw pub, and begun a lifelong love affair with Guinness. missed my connection to London, but finally made it to Le Havre and Paris. My dad was French and my mother British. I'll say no more.

Great site and I hope you can keep it going.

Hello, I've just seen your page about Little Snoring. I was born and bred there and although I moved to Newcastle 8 years ago I still have family in the village. A little info as to how the village got it's name (from what I can remember). As you may know, East Anglia was a prime target for viking invasions and when Danelaw was established, there was an influx of viking noblemen who were set up as the early day Lords of the manor. Apparently the Snorings were run by a viking named Sneara and eventually the two villages became Sneara Magna and Sneara Minor(?) which then became corrupted to Snoring. Thats as much as I can remember but I hope thats some help!

I spent last night on the web looking for a satisfactory video of the Rolling Stones singing Brown Sugar. Yours was the best. My 3 yr old daughter has lately taken a fancy to the song – although I only had the audio. I can’t wait to show her this video.

First I want to say how much I like your website, I was looking around for info for my 8 year old sons schoolwork, he has to do a report on any country, and he picked England, because he thought his favorite NFL team the New England Patriots where from England. My fathers family came from England ( I do not know where) so I thought it would be good for my son to learn about it. Hopefully someday we will be able to come visit and see it for ourselves.
