Hi,
I have a naive question regarding the superconductivity. If you take Cu (for ex) and you cool it down the resistivity decreases gradually, never reaching zero. If you take Hg and you cool it down the resistivity (at a very low temperature) decreases abruptly reaching zero. I guess my question is: why they decrease so different: gradually and abrupt? Is there a reason?

Hi Martin,

I accidentally discovered your website while looking for the exact definition of 'quantum system' and what exactly is the use of Schrodinger's equation etc. I found your website has just what I am looking for. As we come across a lot of stumbling blocks while reading some of the books we have on quantum physics, I resorted to the net. I am going to start from the beginning. That should keep my husband and me occupied for some time. Also your site is very unusual as you are also fond of animals and photos, cars, etc. .....It is going to be interesting going through the links. Thank you.
