The Houses of Parliament, otherwise known as the Palace of Westminster, is the seat of government in the United Kingdom. It consists of two houses, the "House of Commons", which is occupied by elected members, whereas the "House of Lords" is occupied by unelected members (i.e. those who have a hereditary or other right to be there). |
