Kensington Palace is perhaps best known as the home of Princess Diana, up to the time of her death in 1997.  Originally it was rebuilt by Christopher Wren for William III in 1689.  The state apartments are now open to the public.  Café Diana, set up as a memorial to Diana, is located just around the corner.
