( HomeLondon → Marble Arch)

Marble Arch was designed by John Nash in 1828, and was originally intended to be the entrance to Buckingham Palace.  This didn’t come about, largely because the dimensions of the arch were not appropriate to the vehicles that would have to go through it.  Marble Arch is therefore something of a stand-alone monument now.
