The tower of London must surely rank as one of the major attractions of London. It was built by William the Conqueror, and is located next to the Thames, near Tower Bridge. The history of the Tower is too rich to do justice to here, suffice it to say that numerous folk were executed in the Tower, and the Crown Jewels are now stored in the Tower. Tours are available of the Tower, but the queues can be long. |
