Alcester (pronounced "ulster") is a market town about 10 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon. It sits at the junction of two ancient Roman roads, and was one of the most important towns in England during the Roman occupation. Nowadays it is noted for some very well-preserved Tudor houses in certain parts of the town. |
