Bucharest

Bucharest is the capital city of Romania, and I had the pleasure of visiting the city for a couple of days on business in March 2007. The city is a mixture of the old and the new, and the elegant and the ugly. Romania is now a member of the European Union, and one gets the impression of a city and a country that is trying to modernise, while retaining its own unique identity.

Bucharest is noted for its tree-lined boulevards ...

Though they unquestionably look nicer in fine weather!
