Buttermere Village

Buttermere is a small village that lies between Lake Buttermere and Crummock Water. The journey there is a moderately tortuous one, requiring travel over the Honister Pass. Buttermere has a number of good hotels and is a centre for exploring what many feel to be the finest scenery the Lake District has to offer.
