The Castle Rigg Stone circle lies just a couple of miles outside the town of Keswick, and is believed to date from about 1400 BC. There are about 40 stones of varying sizes, the largest of which is about 7 feet tall. The mountainous backdrop to the stone circle is equally breathtaking. |
