Coniston Water is a lake in the central Lake District, with a length of about 5.5 miles. The lake is perhaps most famous as the scene of the death of Donald Campbell, who in 1967 died while attempting to break the water speed record. More leisurely steamer cruises of the lake can also be enjoyed. |
