The Fosse Way is a Roman road that runs from Exeter in the south west of
England, through to Lincoln which lies in the east Midlands of England. Roman
roads are often thought of as being very straight, and if you look at a map of
England and find the section of the Fosse Way that runs through the Cotswolds
(the A429), then that would appear to be the case. The Fosse Way is significant
as it defines the western boundary of Roman rule in England.
