Hameringham is a very small village in the Lincolnshire Wolds, noted for the fact that it is very close to the location of the Battle of Winceby, which took place in 1643. The battle was between the Parliamentarians and the Royalists, and was won by the Parliamentarians after around 30 minutes of fighting. There is a village called Winceby a couple of miles away from Hameringham. |
