Horncastle is a small market town in Lincolnshire, with a population of around 6,000.  The Romans, during their occupation of Lincolnshire, built a fort at Horncastle, and in times gone by the town was renowned for an annual horse fair that was held every August.  The horse fair was held until the early 20th century.
