The town of Keswick is, in a sense, the capital of the northern Lake District. In days gone by, Keswick was a market and mining centre, but these days the town is geared almost exclusively towards tourism. Derwent Water and the Castle Rigg Stone Circle are notable places of interest close to Keswick. |
