The term "wolds" literally means "rolling hills", and in practice this translates into gently undulating countryside. Lincolnshire has a region, running down the central spine of the county, where the rolling hills can be found. To the south of Lincolnshire lie the Fens, which in contrast are very flat and featureless (but still fascinating to see). |
