Along with the Uffington white horse, the Rollright Stones is one of my favourite places on this website.  Located about 3 miles from Chipping Norton, there are 3 components to the Rollright Stones.  First we have the Whispering Knights, which lie over an ancient burial chamber.  Then there is the King’s Stone and finally the King’s Men, which consists of a circle of around 70 relatively small limestone stones.  There are various legends associated with the site – one of which is that it is not possible to count the King’s Men.

The Whispering Knights are so called because they seem to be leaning in and whispering to each other

A final look at the King's Men.  The circle is about 30 m across.
