Shipston

Shipston-on-Stour is a small Warwickshire town where my parents currently live. It is a market town and is located about 10 miles south of Stratford-upon-Avon. The river Stour passes through Shipston, and in fact Shipston used to be known as “Sheep-wash Town” because the river was used for the washing of sheep in summer. There is an old road in Shipston called Sheep Street, which no doubt was something to with the movement of sheep towards the river!
