Stonehenge

Stonehenge is of course one of the wonders of the modern world, located a few miles north of Salisbury, on Salisbury Plain. It’s not my intention to give a detailed description of Stonehenge as there are any number of websites that do that. However, I will say that I found my visit to Stonehenge very inspiring. As you approach the site from the main road, Stonehenge suddenly appears on the horizon and you just know that you are seeing something very special indeed.

Even though you can't approach the stones, you still get a very good view

In contrast to the Avebury Stones, the Stonehenge stones have been refined and smoothed
