Lake Wastwater is located in the western region of the Lake District, and is around 3 miles long and 600 metres wide. It is also the deepest lake in England, with a depth of around 80 metres at its deepest. The mountains and screes that are located around Wastwater are impressive, but as you will see, the weather conditions during my visit were not good for photographing hills and mountains! |

Approaching Lake Wastwater from the Santon Bridge side
Not great weather for viewing the scenery!
Some of the peaks poked out through the low clouds
Wastwater, like many of the lakes, is long and thin
At this point I gave up and went back to the hotel to dry off!
