Woodhenge

Woodhenge is believed to be a wooden equivalent of Stonehenge – that is, instead of having an arrangement of stones, it had wooden structures instead. Woodhenge dates from around 2300 BC. Interestingly, Woodhenge was only discovered in the early 20^th century. While not as immediately impressive as Stonehenge, the possibility of a wooden companion to Stonehenge is nevertheless intriguing.

Woodhenge is located in a rather unpretentious position, just off the main road to Salisbury
